Good News For Pet Owners

19 Jan, 2022

DEFRA issued a press statement on pet travel.

Basically, the UK has been granted Part 2 Listed status by the EU, which means that pets travelling into the EU from the UK after the end of the Brexit transition period on 31st December 2020, will not need a rabies serological blood test and wait 3 months from the date of that blood test before they can travel to the EU, which is great news for pet owners. However, it does mean that UK issued EU Pet Passports will not be recognised by the EU and UK pets will need an animal health certificate (AHC) issued by your vet to travel to the EU.

DEFRA have said the current regulations for pets coming into the UK will not change from1st January 2021
